Junior High Talent Show:

All student involved in the Talent Show (including band and chorus) are expected to attend the  two scheduled after school rehearsals Tuesday, March 9 and Wednesday, March 10 from 3:30-6:00 PM.  Students will be excused from any school sports practices on these two days to ensure all students can attend.  If for any reason a student cannot attend any part of either of these rehearsals, the student must inform either Ms. O'Connor or Mrs. Ramsey by Friday, March 5 with a note from their parent/guardian.

To fit the 50s Rock 'n' Roll Theme, the JH Chorus should wear 50s style clothing for the Chorus numbers.

Women:  poodle skit, blouse/sweater, scarf, and saddle shoes/white keds

There have been many tv shows and movies made about the fifties. How about Happy Days, Laverne And Shirley, and Joanie Loves Chachi or Grease, Rebel Without A Cause or American Graffiti? Some of the actors of the fifties were Desi Arnaz, Pat Boone, Desi Arnaz, Elvis Presley and Yul Brynner; television personalities Jack Paar, Dave Garroway, Gary Moore, and Johnny Carson.

Then of course you have “Rock n Roll” the 1950’s were at the heart of its beginning. There was a show called American Bandstand where teenagers learned how to do dance steps like the Twist, the Hand Jive, the Stroll, the mambo jambo, the rhumba, the La Bamba, the Boogie and those other wild dances just to name a few. You had Musicians Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and we can’t forget “The King” Elvis Presley.

The fifties look wouldn't be complete without Buddy Holly.  Although he died only after a few years of playing Rock n Roll, his innovations place him as one to emulate in his trademark glasses and classic coat.

How about the classic "Greaser Jacket". The look of the fifties later made famous by “The Fonz” on Happy Days. This would make a 50’s costume complete if you want that greaser look.
